Eats and Sights!
Chicago is a top-rated food city. While you can't try everything, we've put together a list of some of our favorite restaurants (ordered by more casual to "fanicer") for you to check out.
We encourage everyone to make a reservation somewhere special on Friday night for dinner and then join us back at Hotel Zachary after dinner at 9pm to get the party started!
Pequod's
The BEST deep dish pizza in the city. A must-try if you've never had Chicago deep dish. Make sure to add garlic to your pizza!
Note: You can make a reservation online but book early!
Wolcott Tap
Friendly corner bar and a neighborhood favorite walking distance from Billy's old apartment. Great place to go on a cold winter night for drinks and dinner with friendly bartenders. No res needed!
O'Shaughnessy's
A no-nonsense Irish pub with good bar food. The front-runner in Anthony's quest to find the best chicken wings in Chicago (make sure to order extra blue cheese!)
Twin Anchors
A Chicago institution dating back to 1932, amazing ribs and old school Chicago decor. Great vibe.
NOTE: Does not accept reservations. Get here early to get your name on the list.
Ranalli's
Great sports bar in Lincoln Park, known for their pizza, chicken tenders, and patio for football. While their patio won't be open in March, the chicken tenders will still be perfection. No res needed!
Spacca Napoli
The best Neapolitan pizza in the city and a go-to for our birthdays. Their burrata is imported from Italy - a must order!
NOTE: Call ahead 1 week+ for a reservation.
Tango Sur
One of our north side favorites, a BYOB (bring your wine) steakhouse known for their generous portions and romantic atmosphere. Order the El Filet and provoleta!
Note: Tango Sur does not accept online reservations. Make sure to call (773-477-5466)
Gemini
Next to Anthony's old apartment in Lincoln Park and a consistent favorite of ours. Great specials, steak frites, and very solid brunch option for Saturday.
NOTE: definitely make a reservation
Coda di Volpe
Excellent pizza and pasta less than a mile from Hotel Zachary. Also open for Saturday lunch. A favorite of Anthony's mom.
NOTE: definitely make a reservation
Chicago River Architecture Boat Cruise
Lots of great options, you can't go wrong! Provides a lot of great Chicago history and architecture from one of the city's best vantage points: the Chicago River. Just be sure to dress warmly!
Art Institute of Chicago
Ferris Buehler, anyone?
Be sure to visit the Thorne Miniature Rooms in the basement (Billy's childhood favorite)!
Chicago Cultural Center
A hidden gem (l i t e r a l l y)
Check out the Tiffany Domes. Tours are offered, but you should be able to walk around for free.
Chicago Athletic Association
Go for the vibes
Great place to read a book, order a drink or coffee, or just relax. The Bean is across the street. Don't forget to check out the 2nd floor.
